The chlorine shortage is a real problem that has become a topic of much debate in the pool industry today. How many of us actually understand what happened when the factories were forced to shut down? Our guest explains why the shortage is taking place and provides an alternative perspective from the manufacturing angle.

John Bokor has been with Haviland for eight years. He came onboard as the Regional Sales Manager for the company covering the Midwest. This year, in the wake of COVID-19, he took on the role of Director of Sales for the pool division. John is also involved with some of the marketing for the company, teaches classes at trade shows, and has contributed heavily to the Haviland brand by starring as the “Legend” on videos featured on the website.

Listen in as John shares how he came to be the face of Haviland and picked up the moniker “Legend” in the process, the challenges posed to the industry by both the plant fire and the drastically shifting economy in 2020, and alternatives to chlorine amid the shortage and how to start educating customers on this situation.
